As everyone cleans house today in preparation of holiday guests, I thought it would be a great time to talk about the most used room in the house–the bathroom. As we’ve been building the new barn on the farm, we’ve given special attention to the Big Barn bathrooms.
We decided to to mix industrial and farm looks to achieve a unique style, true to the rest of our Knoxville wedding venue. For that wow factor, we used white subway tile in a floor-to-ceiling accent wall. This gives a little shine to the room but also makes it easy to keep sparkling clean.
On the other walls, we used a natural colored board halfway up the wall. Then we used a white vertical board for the upper half of the walls. The contrast provides a pleasing farm chic look. For the floors, we found a fabulous option at Knox Rail Salvage. We found a unique tile that looks like wood boards, known as rustique rouge porcelain tile. To provide even more interest to the room, we laid the floor tiles at a 45 degree angle.
The Big Barn bathrooms are just waiting on a few things to be complete. We’re going to add some focused bulb lighting to provide great light. We’re also going to add a sconce light with an outdoorsy galvanized pan to tie into our farm industrial look. They’re going to be the coolest bathrooms in all of Tennessee!
At Cedar Pond Farms, we love capturing all those special moments, including the moments when we’re renovating or building. We have fun all along the way, and love to include our Facebook and Instagram friends in on our fun.
