One of our preferred vendors, Always Yours Occasions, visited the farm, and put together a comprehensive review. We’re thankful to have such wonderful relationships with other businesses in the area, and are happy to share their review of our unique venue. Check them out for any of your wedding and event planning needs.
Recently, our team visited Cedar Pond Farms to catch up on some of their renovations. Let
me tell you, this venue is a beauty. Visiting venues is a highlight of our week; not only do we get
to explore and meet new people, but we also get our creative juices flowing. What could be
better than having a day trip to a venue and finding out that you absolutely love it? Not much
else in the wedding and event world – except a successful event, of course. Venues are a huge,
huge part of the outcome of the event, and how your beautiful day will look.
Cedar Pond Farms, in my book, is an amazing place. It’s perfect for getting engaged, hosting
parties, and being married all in one place. It’s located far enough away from the interstate that
it is peaceful and at the same time it is easy to get back on the freeway. You can even host the
wedding party on-site the night before the wedding for ease of mind and treasure that special
time with your closest friends and family.
While most venues have one or two sites suitable for a wedding ceremony or reception,
Cedar Pond Farms has up to 15. The venue can accommodate large and small parties. No
matter which site you choose, there are lots of details and thoughtful preparations that will make
for a lovely setting. The farm is host to chickens and ducks, but they are quite friendly and the
chickens can be caged for all or part of an event.
Access is made easy for those who may have trouble walking or have health issues. Almost
everything is wheelchair accessible and a golf cart is available for those who need a ride.
As a side note, one of my favorite things about this place is that there are no mosquitoes. I
always get eaten up, but this place is not one where I have to worry about that. This is a place
you would want to consider for yourself and your guests if you are prone to being eaten alive by
those little vampires.
Here is another consideration: for those who have their wedding at Cedar Pond Farms, it can
easily become a favorite place to have family reunions year after year and build many
memories. In fact, owner Shawn Wilmoth is very intent on providing guests the ability to do this.
As we toured the many sites on this farm, he consistently emphasized how there was a built in
photo-area, or how a bride would travel this or that path with her dad and they would have a last
moment together, and then over in the wooded area the bride and groom would steal away
immediately after the ceremony for a few precious moments alone. This venue is so adaptable
to what you need, especially if you love the outdoors.
In addition to weddings, Cedar Pond Farms is great for corporate events, youth group
outings, or overnight camping. The pond can be stocked for fishing and a fish fry. Outdoor
games can be set up in several places and indoor spaces are available for visiting or meeting
areas. By midsummer, the Big Barn will be finished for more possibilities as an indoor space for
events of all kinds. If you are looking for a unique venue, Cedar Pond Farms is a treasure. Do
yourself a favor and schedule a tour. It could be just what you’ve been searching for.
